Bruno Reis extends the duration of the El Salvador Carnival in 2024; Find out the details

Mayor Bruno Reis announced on Friday (26), during the opening of the 2nd Expo Carnival, at the Convention Center of Boca do Río, that the pre-carnival and carnival period in 2024 will be extended to 12 days of celebration.

The festivities begin with the celebration of the Yemanja Festival, scheduled for February 2nd, which will fall on a Friday in 2024. The following weekend, on the 3rd and 4th, the traditional warm-up events for the carnival, Fusoi and Fordonso, take place.

Continuing the program, on Monday the 5th, an unprecedented event with Xanddy Harmonia, which was a private concert and will now be free. On Tuesday, the traditional Pipoco ceremony with Léo Santana takes place. On Wednesday, Sergio Bezerra’s buzz circle. The official period of the carnival begins on Thursday.

“The Carnival injects more than R$1.5 billion into our economy. This increases municipal revenues and these resources can be reinvested in health, social and educational areas,” said Bruno Reis, highlighting the importance of the event for the capital of Bahia.

The mayor also highlighted the city council’s efforts to keep tourism strong throughout the year, investing in the opening of the Salvador Convention Center to attract business events and creating new calendars, such as the November Salvador Capital Avro.

“The months of July, August, September, October and November witnessed the largest number of visitors in the city’s history. On some weekends, we have 100% occupancy in the hotel. Next November, the rate will be 90%.”

Bruno Reis used this event to call on representatives from other carnival cities in the country to work together for the benefit of tourism: “Together, we can strengthen the Carnival product as a strong Brazilian product, which will help attract thousands of foreign visitors and this will have a greater positive impact on Brazil’s economy.
