RIO — After performing alongside her family at the Tora Festival in Sao Paulo, Britta Gil, 48, used Instagram Stories early Monday to explain why she wasn’t greeting friends and fans backstage. The singer, who is being treated for bowel cancer, said she was dying, so doctors asked her to take care of herself.

“Sao Paulo, what is this show about? I wanted to tell all my friends and fans that I can’t have anyone after the show. I think you noticed that I fainted a bit. The doctors asked me a lot to keep myself as much as possible to be able to do shows in Next weekend in Salvador,” Britta said.

“I’m very obedient and I know you’ll understand if I don’t hug and kiss you. The energy I received from you, from the stage, was something emotional. Not just for me, but for the whole family,” Gilbert’s daughter Gill continued.

On her social network, Britta also showed her father celebrating his 81st birthday. In the photos, Gil is shown blowing out the candle on a small cake backstage at another show on the “Nos A Gente” tour. The artist was accompanied by his wife, Flora Gill, and a number of family members and friends, including the broadcaster Gomino, the make-up artist Soraya Rocha, and Roberta Sarita, who is also a Gill doctor.

“Congratulations now, midnight, after a great show in São Paulo! Long live my father, my king, my love! 81 years old!” Britta celebrated in the video caption.
