Preta gel has long been a staple of Carnival, drawing crowds with its bloco da preta in major cities, such as Rio and Salvador. But in the year 2023, Fulia Momo is different, without the infectious presence of Gilberto Gil’s daughter, who is undergoing treatment for a newly discovered cancer. And in order not to leave the most popular concert in the world without her joy, the singer decided to release her voice at a party for friends and family.

The event that marked Britta Gil’s presence at this carnival took place on Sunday (26), already after the days of official festivities, but with a festive atmosphere in the streets dominated by revelers who did not want to let the carnival go too far. The singer’s performance is recorded through the stories of Dr. Talles Britas, widower of comedian Paolo Gustavo.

Bloco da Preta has been drawing crowds for over 10 years.

“What a thrill to see you sing, celebrate life, Brittanha! I love you, it was beautiful”dermatologist Thales Brittas wrote at the singer’s video release. Other profiles have also participated in Brita’s performance, such as Brita’s fan club Necessária Gil and singer Psirico.
