The tenth edition of Billionaire Censuswhich uses data from Wealth-X revealed that World population in billionaires It decreased to 3,194 individuals in 2022, which is a decrease of 3.5%. This is the first time there has been a decrease since 2018.

The report also reveals that three-quarters of billionaires are concentrated in 15 countries, including Brazil, the United States, China, Germany and the United Kingdom. According to the report, these places offer the culture and lifestyle that this group is looking for, in addition to offering employment opportunities (see list below).

The census is responsible for monitoring the net worth and total population of billionaires on the planet, by region and city. According to the data, North America experienced a decline in the number of billionaires for the first time in four years. Among the cities that ranked first, Singapore saw the largest increase in the number of billionaires, with another 54 billionaires in 2022. However, the report shows that New York, Hong Kong and San Francisco are still the favorite cities of the rich. Sao Paulo ranks eleventh (check below)

Men dominate this indicator, making up 87.5% of the population, while women make up less than a fifth (12.5%). The average age of billionaires is 67.2 years. The report shows that people under the age of 50 make up just 9.5% of the group, while people between the ages of 50 and 70 make up 42.2%. Those over the age of 70 make up the majority at 48.2%.
