Bluetooth type? WhatsApp is coming up with a feature to share files between people nearby

Hey WhatsApp It announced a new feature that will make it easier to share files with nearby users. The People Nearby section was initially launched in WhatsApp Beta for Android, and it allows you to share files directly with people nearby. The new feature is available in version 2.24.2.20 for Android.

With the new tool, both users will need to open the People Nearby section for the transfer to begin. The sharing request will be generated after the user shakes the cell phone. After the request is generated, the user receiving the files will need to accept the transfer. It is worth noting that the process will rely on WhatsApp's end-to-end encryption, which keeps shared files safe.

Since the transfer is only activated after a cell phone is vibrated, WhatsApp aims to prevent requests from being accepted accidentally, such as accidentally touching the accept button. Moreover, this gesture also prevents people from sending files secretly, preventing unauthorized sharing of content.

When will the job be available to everyone?

Through the new function, users will be able to share files quickly and easily, as long as the person who will receive the file is nearby. The new tool also promises to make it easier to send files up to 2GB in size between Android phones and WhatsApp Web.

Moreover, if the new tool allows integration between Android and iOS devices, WhatsApp will innovate in file sharing. This is because other applications do not allow direct file sharing between devices with different operating systems.

However, it is not yet known when the feature will be made available to the general public in the app. The new procedure comes in line with WhatsApp's recent efforts to increase user privacy and prevent random people from sending offensive and/or unwanted content to strangers.
