Assassin’s Creed Codename Red will have the first assassin in history

New information about Assassin’s Creed Codename Red suggests that the previous rumors were well-founded. Ubisoft sources have confirmed the introduction of African samurai Yasuke as the protagonist and number one assassin in history.

According to an article from Indoor games, the story of Yasuke, a samurai who existed in real life, will be adapted into the game franchise’s archetypes. In the story, the samurai is a survivor of an attack on a slave ship where everyone was killed, including his lover.

He was rescued and taken to Japan, and learned the way of the sword as one of the servants of the legendary Oda Nobunaga. With this, the soldier was able to carve his own path not only as a seasoned warrior, but as the first lethal force in history.

However, as time passed, the rivalry between the two was put aside, when they discovered their shared desire to unify the Japanese territories.

Sources also suggested introducing more historical names Assassin’s Creed Codename Red: Nagato and Nobunaga will have major roles in the development of the heroes, while Akechi Mitsuhide, Hattori Hanzo, Toyotatomi Hideyoshi, Kōdai-in, Oichi, Ashikaga Yoshiaki, and Akechi Kagemitsu will have smaller roles.
