Influencer Hayes Greer, former star of video app Vine, was arrested last week on suspicion of assault, robbery and conspiracy. After the beating, the victim sustained brain damage.

Hayes allegedly hit a man and then stole his $1,200 phone, the equivalent of R$6,216 at today’s rate. Police identified the victim’s name as William Markolph.

The case took place in North Carolina, but the police went to the influencer’s home in California to execute the arrest warrant.

According to TMZ, the judge said he found enough evidence to arrest the influencer, which was to happen on the last Monday of last week.

The reason for the beating was not explained, but what police said was the severe assault. William had a broken eye bone, brain damage, bruised ribs, bleeding from the back of his head, hearing loss, and more.

Hayes was released after bail. Police are still investigating the complicity of a man named Luke Fauci in the crime.

The influencer became popular at the time of Vine, a service for storing videos in a short format, after the tool became popular. In addition to him, his brother Nash Greer has also gained popularity on the app. Hayes is also the younger brother of Carolina Panthers quarterback Will Greer.
