The expansion of measures to contain the new variants of the coronavirus in the country was the reason for the meetings of the National Health Surveillance Agency (Anvisa) with the Ministry of Health (MS).

During this week, the agency is promoting technical meetings with state and municipal health watchdogs and airlines.

On Wednesday (26), the meeting will be held with centers of information and strategic response in health surveillance (Cievs) from all over the country, with the aim of controlling performance flows, harmonizing procedures and providing clarifications on performance. An agency for containing the circulation of new variants of the Coronavirus.

Also according to the current law, foreign travelers arriving from or passing through the United Kingdom of Great Britain and Northern Ireland, the Republic of South Africa and the Republic of India in the 14 days prior to departure are prohibited from entering Brazil.

However, the standard specifies exceptions. Brazilians and spouses of Brazilians, for example, of origin or passage date in these countries must remain in quarantine for 14 days upon arrival in Brazil.

The idea under discussion is that quarantined travelers should be sent, in agreed flows between states and municipalities, to specific quarantine places, according to the terms of each location. According to the agency, quarantine control on the national territory does not fall within Anvisa’s purview, which is limited to the airport, port and border areas of the country.

In addition, states and municipalities will also be able to implement additional health measures in settings where the agency does not have the legal capacity to act, such as highways and highways.

Still this week, Anvisa will meet with airlines and franchisees at the airport, in order to ramp up procedures already underway and discuss the flow of information from flight passengers, in order to allow for a faster identification of the hackers under investigation.

Sao Paulo

Last Monday (24), Anvisa discussed new work flows to expand control measures with state and municipal health secretariats in São Paulo, the city that is the largest port of entry for passengers in Brazil via the air network.

In Guarulhos, the suggestion is that passengers – albeit asymptomatic – who have passed through countries currently trading new alternatives, such as B.1.617, originally from India, should be directed to a specific location to comply with the quarantine.
