Boris Becker has been sentenced to two and a half years in prison, after being imprisoned for eight months
A month after leaving prison, former German tennis player Boris Becker will work as a commentator for Eurosport at the Australian Open, the first major tournament of the season, Sports TV Network announced this Tuesday (3).

At the end of April 2022, he was sentenced by English justice to two and a half years in prison for financial fraud, and the former tennis player was released on December 15, after eight months in detention, and deported from the United Kingdom.
His lawyer explained that the 55-year-old Becker had “completed his sentence” and was “not subject to any criminal restrictions in Germany”.
Winner of six Grand Slam tournaments in his career (Wimbledon in 1985, 1986 and 1989; US Open in 1989, Australian Open in 1991 and 1996), Boris Becker, who became the world number one in 1991, will participate daily in Eurosport’s evening broadcasts from Australian Championship.
