Actress Titi Medina, best known for her appearances in soap operas, dies at 84

Actress, writer and artist Titi Medina died on Tuesday 2nd, at the age of 84. The artist's body will be cremated on Wednesday 3rd, scheduled for 8:20 am, at the Penitência cemetery, Caju, North Zone of Rio.

The actress has worked on television, cinema and theater. To this day, she is remembered for her notable appearances such as in the telenovelas “Água viva” (1980), where she played Lucy Fragonard, wife of Miguel (Raúl Cortés), mother of Sandra (Gloria Pires), and “Curaçao Alado” (1980) where Crystal Camerian lived, both of Globo TV. She also worked in the telenovela “Transas e Caretas” produced by Globo in 1984.

In the theater, Titi played many remarkable characters. She was nominated for the Molière Award for Best Actress for the play “Hippolito” (1968), as well as for her performances in “Alice in the Marvelous Divine Country” (1970) and “The Young Women” in the same year. In 1972, the artist won the Molière Award for Best Actress for the film “China Blue” and the Mambembe Award for Best Actress for the film “Os Ferranistas” in 1978.

In cinema, he participated in films such as “A Casa Assassinada” (1971), “Os Inconfidentes” (1972), and “Eu Sou Vida, Não Sou Morte” (1973).
