Activision: “Phil Spencer is also why we’re so excited about the acquisition”

In an interview with CBNC, Bobby Kotick, the current CEO of Activision Blizzard, said that he is under contract until April 2024 and that after Microsoft’s acquisition of the company is finalized, he will assist in the transition, stating that after it is gone permanently.

More specifically about the role he will be taking on, Kotick said: “I have committed to Microsoft to stay as long as they need to help with integration“.

Kotick also paid tribute to Phil Spencerthe current head of Microsoft’s video game division: “He’s a man amazingIt’s actually a big part of why we’re so excited about the transaction.”.

Kotick is one of the most controversial contracts in the entire acquisition process. A figure considered by many to be uncomfortable, due to some of his statements and alleged behaviors that are not entirely clear, he has nevertheless managed Activision with tremendous success in recent decades, resulting in exponential growth and results that are difficult to predict.

Many hope that one of the effects of Microsoft’s acquisition will be its removal, especially after recent accusations against Acivision Blizzard of the company’s internal policies.
