According to journalist Andrew Jones, who tracks China’s space program, although the cube probably isn’t home to aliens, it’s worth a closer look. This approach takes two to three lunar days, which equates to a period of up to three months on Earth.
The robotic explorer has been operating at the south pole of Aitken since January 2019. It is solar-powered and disabled during the lunar night, which lasts for two weeks on Earth. So far, it has traveled 840 meters and has sent about 3.6 terabytes of data to the researchers.
