More than two-thirds of American voters went to the polls to vote US midterm elections We don’t want the current president, Joe Biden, to run for re-election in 2024.
An Edison Research poll shows that more than 7 in 10 independent voters and nearly 9 in 10 Republican voters do not want Biden to be a candidate for the White House. Moreover, fewer than 6 in 10 voters who vote for Democratic Party candidates think he should run for president again.
Among Democratic voters, 9 out of 10 have a “positive” view of the incumbent president, and a little more disapprove of his performance as head of state. Among Republicans, only 1 in 10 approve of the current president’s administration.
Regarding former President Donald Trump, the poll showed that two-thirds of independent voters and 9 out of 10 Democrats don’t have a favorable view of the billionaire. But more than 75% of Republican voters approve of him to occupy the White House again.
Independent voters represent about a quarter of the electorate, Democrats account for about a third and Republicans just over a third.
The US midterm elections are crucial for Biden, who has said he has “intent” to run for re-election in 2024, and for Donald Trump, who has hinted at the possibility of a new nomination. He said he would make a “big announcement” on November 15.
And the Americans went to the polls last Tuesday (8) to determine all the seats in the House of Representatives, 30 seats in the Senate, 36 governors and all local councils.
