A CINTESP/UFU representative will form the Ministry's technical team to advise on technological innovation

Professor at the Faculty of Mechanical Engineering at the Federal University of Uberlândia (Femec/UFU) and coordinator of the Brazilian Center of Reference for Technological Innovations for Paralympic Sports (Cintesp.Br), Cleudmar Amaral Araujo, will be part of the technical team of the Ministry of Science, Technology and Innovation (MCTI) to advise on technological innovation .

The formation of the technical support team was published in the Official Gazette on August 5, and 32 researchers from Brazilian universities were invited. The aim of the work will be to assist technicians in the overall coordination of the Entrepreneurship and Innovation Secretariat’s Innovation Support Mechanisms (CGMI / SEMPI / MCTI) in preparing the so-called Opinion Diagnostics for R&D and Technology. Innovation programs offered by MCTI to companies benefiting from the well-known “Lei do Bem”. The law was enacted in 2005 to accelerate research and development in technological innovation through tax incentives for legal entities.

The work of the technical support team will be carried out in person with the expectation to complete the consultations to MCTI by August 26th. “Lei do Bem makes it possible to give tax incentives to legal entities in developing technological innovations. Before Cintesp.Br for more than 10 years, we have been developing innovations in assistive technology. I hope to contribute with the technical support team in my field so that scientific research in Brazil can develop more , with its great researchers, taking advantage of this important incentive that companies can generate,” Araujo highlights.
