    • A nurse from Campo Grande was the victim of a scam with Pix.

    • The scammers stole 15,000 BRL from your account.

    • She was on vacation in Natal when she realized the scam.

A 48-year-old nurse from Campo Grande (MS) found herself in an awkward position upon disembarking in Natal (RN), where she had traveled with her husband on vacation. Upon checking the bank statement, the couple realized that they had been the victim of a financial fraud.

According to a report from local news portal Campo Grande News, the nurse realized she had lost R$15,000 in one go. She said the money was transferred, via Pix, to an unknown account.

The woman, who did not give her name, alleges that the transfer took place during the flight of the plane, while she did not have a cell phone Internet connection.

She also claims that the transfer was above the daily limit for the amount of Pix transfers from her account, and that she is requesting clarifications from her bank.

“I tried to speak to the management of my bank, but they have not yet given me an explanation,” she said in a letter republished on the Campo Grande News portal.

With the ease of use of Pix, and fast transfers, the system has been used by criminals who have been able to infiltrate victims’ accounts to transfer money quickly.

“What pisses me off the most is that the transfer time was 8:00 am, when my husband and I were on the plane, luckily, as soon as we arrived, he went to look at the bill and saw the transfer made, we all spent these days trying to talk to Bank and nothing yet.” “The funny thing is that my PIX transfer limit is R$5,000, meaning the bank issued, and God knows how, another R$10,000.”
