- Globe and 3D buildings and structures in maps: Requires an iPhone or iPad with an A12 Bionic chip or higher. According to Apple, CarPlay support is coming later this year.
- Animated wallpapers in the weather app: It will require an iPhone with an A12 Bionic chip or higher.
- Siri and dictation with local processing: It will require an iPhone or iPad with an A12 Bionic chip or higher and download “speech models” in German, Chinese, Spanish, French, English and Japanese – yes, Portuguese is excluded from this…
- house keys: It will require an iPhone XS or later. Hotel keys, business badges, etc. You will depend on the support provided by the system at each location.
- Stability when walking healthy: Requires iPhone 8 or later.
- Enhanced 5G Connectivity: It will obviously require an iPhone 12 mini, 12, 12 Pro or 12 Pro Max (the only ones that actually support 5G).
You see, there are a lot of “small details” – but, as a rule, most new features will require a minimum of the A12 chip found in the iPhone XR, XS and XS Max (released in 2018).
