The UK was well sent to host the 2035 Women's World Cup, as its nomination was the only right proposal, according to FIFA President Gianni Infantino. The joint proposal includes England, Northern Ireland, Scotland and Wales.

However, the country can host the first World Cup since 1966. The federations are now working to finish the nomination, which should be officially sent by the end of the year.

Meanwhile, the United States is in the conflict to host the 2031 edition, so far the only one that expresses attention. The federations until the last quarter of the year have the formal nature of their requests, and FIFA intends to announce the host countries in the second quarter of 2026.

Initially, there were expectations that Spain, Portugal and Morocco launched a nomination for the year 2035, but the UK's proposal is the only one in the conflict.

FIFA also confirmed that the 2031 Women's World Cup will get an increase in the number of participating teams, from 32 to 48, which equals the form of men's championship. The 2027 version, which will be held in Brazil, will continue with 32 teams.

In the Olympic scenario, FIFA's request was rejected to expand the number of women's teams in the Olympic Games, from 12 to 16, by the International Olympic Committee. Given this, the entity studies reduce the number of men's teams in the championship to achieve a balance between female participation.
