While driving along GO-139, many drivers came across a sign that caught their attention because of its unexpected message. Located at the Caldas Novas exit, right next to the highway, it was decorated with long sticks.

The sign, in large print, is intended to communicate the proximity of a confectionery company to the area. So far, so good, the point is that the way this message has been conveyed is a bit unusual.

This is because instead of the word “arrived” to indicate the proximity of the destination, the person responsible for the announcement wrote “Xegou”, using a spelling that is considered incorrect in formal Portuguese.

However, these letters may have been chosen to create a certain symbolism. The reference may be to the language of treasure maps and pirates, where an X signifies arrival.

    And so big

After passing through the surprise, the driver is left to decide whether to actually stop at the destination, where he can try the delicious dishes offered by the pastry shop, or whether to continue on to the next town.
