Marvel's Spider-Man 2 is available for PC, as a result of a crime that took place late last year. The build that was stolen by hackers from Insomniac Games continues to be improved, and now features visuals Good and even better in some parts than the original PlayStation 5 version.as shown in the comparison below.

The modeling process is more detailed and clear, as can be seen mainly in the cinematic scenes. This is reflected in the rest, as the game is running at 1440p resolution with the GeForce RTX 4070, which results in a higher graphical quality than that offered by Sony's console.

Furthermore, it is possible to reach 60 FPS on PC with better graphics. Apparently, the PS5 version should run in Quality Mode, where the gameplay is at 30 FPS. In other words, even in the mode that prioritizes graphics, the advantage of the unofficial version of Spider-Man 2 for PC can still be seen.

The PC advantage doesn't seem to be complete in this comparison, as some of the lighting, shadow, and particle effects still look better on the PlayStation 5, something that should improve as optimization progresses. It's worth noting that the PS5 version features ray tracing and we still don't know if this type of technology has actually been implemented in the unofficial port.

Higher graphics quality and higher frame rate on PC

These improvements in image quality and smooth gameplay with higher frame rates are only possible on high-end hardware, of course. Otherwise, with an entry-level PC, it is not possible to achieve the same result as the PS5 when comparing the two consoles.

Not long ago, we showed here that Spider-Man 2 can now be played at 4K resolution at 120fps. However, in this case, this was thanks to the power of the GeForce RTX 4090, which still showed some significant drops, something that could be linked to the lack of port optimization.

Sony doesn't seem to have followed up on Spider-Man 2's PC content, perhaps because the game has already been released. But as for Marvel's Wolverine, which has also been leaked and has a PC build, it's hard to give us time to watch the gameplay video, as it's been removed almost immediately.

Spider-Man 2 has been a great seller on PlayStation 5, and with Sony's more aggressive strategy of releasing its games more frequently on PC, we may be getting the second Miranha game officially on PC sooner than we think.
