The main topic that the networks have been discussing since Saturday evening (13) is the attack on former President and Republican candidate for the White House, Donald Trump, which took place during a mass rally in the state of Pennsylvania.
Well, shortly after the incident, figures from the Brazilian far-right, as well as internationally, were quick to baselessly accuse the left of being responsible for the attack on Trump.
One of these figures is Councilor Carlos Bolsonaro (Republicanos-RJ), who published a bizarre post where he took a speech by professor and poet Mauro Iasi and made an absolutely incredible comment, in addition to taking the professor's speech out of context.
In the commentary accompanying the video with Professor Mauro Yasi, Carlos Bolsonaro wrote: “Simply put, the entire left drips hatred online in the eyes of any doctor, like every day, and none of those who present themselves as representatives of democracy wearing red underwear, cufflinks and fancy ties say absolutely nothing about this conspiracy.
“Everything in this mess has a method and a purpose,” the Rio councilman continues. “Being indignant is human! Abstaining is like putting lipstick on your friend’s moustache and white collar!”
As you can see, only Carlos Bolsonaro can understand what he wrote. But the truth is that the statements of the shooter who tried to kill Donald Trump are completely inconsistent, and the FBI continues to investigate to put the pieces together and try to understand what prompted the man to shoot the Republican candidate for president of the United States of America.
Thomas Matthew Crooks: Who is the man who shot Trump?
The Federal Bureau of Investigation (FBI) revealed in the early hours of Sunday (14) the identity of the man who tried to kill Donald Trump in the city of Butler, Pennsylvania, on Saturday evening. The person responsible for the attack is Thomas Matthew Crooks, who is only 20 years old.
He was killed by the Secret Service and will not be able to provide any explanation for his motives. The man was placed in a strategic location on the roof of a factory, about 130 meters from the podium where Trump was speaking. See the distance:
From there, he fired several shots, one of which slightly wounded Trump. The former US president is in good condition.
Who is Thomas Matthew Crooks?
Little information has been released about Crooks so far. It is known that he was from a small town in Pennsylvania called Bethel. He was 20 years old.
He has been a member of Donald Trump's Republican Party since 2021 and carries an AR-style rifle. No further details have been released about Crooks' possible motives.
The only confirmed image of the face of the man who tried to assassinate Trump is a short video of him receiving his high school diploma in 2022, when he graduated from Bethel Park High School.
Authorities have yet to release information about his past and possible motives, but experts say the choice of location and the precision of the attack suggest it was pre-planned.
