Dino left his term as senator to take over the Ministry of Justice in Lula's government (PT). The agreement also includes lifelong medical care abroad and an air intensive care unit. The network coverage includes Syrian-Lebanese hospitals and Albert Einstein Hospital.

The Senate declared that “former Senator Flavio Dino and senator-in-waiting Camilo Santana are entitled to the health plan regardless of how long they have been in office.”

The House of Representatives affirms that “former Senator Flavio Dino retains the entitlement following the decision of the Steering Committee, at its meeting held on November 6, 2003, which reserves the right of former senators, who hold public office, as long as they are not supported by any other health plan.”

    Expenses paid by the taxpayer

According to Lucio Vaz, there are 245 former senators on the list of beneficiaries, in addition to 308 dependents of former and current parliamentarians in the Chamber of Deputies. The health plan expenses for these politicians will cost the public treasury R$31.7 million in 2022.
