A 20-year-old man has been permanently banned from Jet2 flights after attacking flight attendants and other passengers on a flight from Glasgow (Scotland) to Tenerife (Spain). The incident occurred on Wednesday afternoon (12/6) and the airline described it as some of the most shocking behavior it has ever witnessed on its flights.

The plane was forced to divert to Shannon Airport in Co Clare (Ireland), due to the “horrible and deplorable actions” of the young man, identified as Guy Dalzell. According to reports from the Daily Mirror, Jay, who appeared intoxicated, became disruptive shortly after taking off from Glasgow. Minutes later, he attacked the flight attendants and other passengers.
Pictures shared on social media show the moment Jay is taken out, shirtless, handcuffed and dragged on the floor of the plane.
Jet2 announced that it would cover Jay's operating costs arising from the diversion of the flight to Ireland.
Phil Ward, Director of Jet2, expressed his regret at what happened: “This was one of the worst instances of disruptive passenger behavior we have ever seen. We apologize to all colleagues and customers on board for what they had to endure. It is unacceptable for customers, families and work colleagues to be subjected to such behaviour. Appallingly we will prosecute Mr. Dalzell vigorously for all costs incurred by this diversion and ban him from traveling with us for the rest of his life.
