    On Tuesday (23), the US Congress approved a package allowing financial aid to be sent to Ukraine, Israel and Taiwan. President Joe Biden said he would sign the bills into law in the coming hours.

    After the laws are approved, the United States must send $95 billion (487 billion Brazilian reals) to its allies abroad. This money will be divided into:

    • 61 billion US dollars to Ukraine;
    • 26 billion US dollars To Israel and humanitarian aid to civilians in conflict areas;
    • 8.12 billion US dollars To Taiwan.

    The package passed by the Senate also includes the transfer of confiscated Russian assets to Ukraine, new sanctions against Iran, as well as a law that could pave the way for a TikTok ban in the country. Understand more below.

    Following Congressional approval, President Joe Biden stated that the United States is already preparing to send $1 billion in military aid to Ukraine.

    US aid to Ukraine will come at a time when the country is facing a shortage of military supplies. Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky has been pressuring the West to cooperate.

    The American press said that the aid package may be the last to be approved by Congress before the presidential elections scheduled for November.

    In theory, ByteDance would have to sell TikTok's operations within the United States to another company that has no relationship to the Chinese company.

    The company will have 270 days to sell TikTok. The deadline may be extended by agreement for another 90 days. If the law is not followed, the major technology companies Apple and Google will have to remove the social network from their app stores.

    ByteDance is expected to file a lawsuit to prevent compliance with the law passed by the US Congress, arguing that the measure is unconstitutional.
