A red alert was issued in Scotland last night
The British Met Office has issued a red warning as Storm Isha passes through Scotland on Sunday night (21). On Monday (22nd) morning, strong winds and rain caused downed trees and caused flooding, making trains impassable. However, more rain is forecast for the UK and Ireland. The storm left at least two people dead and tens of thousands of homes without power.
The Met Office reported gusts of up to 160km/h in the north-east of England. A Network Rail spokesman said the situation was already being dealt with at the country's railway stations and that “hundreds of technicians” had been sent to the platforms “armed with chainsaws”.
