This Saturday, December 2, from 9 am to 3 pm, the Municipal Health Department of Assis is promoting a major effort for the prevention and diagnosis of skin cancer at the Assis Specialist Center (Avenue Marechal Deodoro, No. 456 – Centro). This procedure is a partnership between the Ministry of Health, the Medical Course of the Municipal Educational Foundation of Assis (FEMA) and the Brazilian Society of Dermatology (SBD).

To be seen during the joint effort, you do not have to have a referral or make an appointment. In total, there will be eight dermatologists serving residents to detect signs that may indicate lesions caused by skin cancer.

“We organize ourselves to serve a large number of people on that day, and depending on each case, we will perform small surgeries on the same day,” says dermatologist and FEMA professor Carolina Almeida.

This action is a reference to the orange month of December, which promotes care by exposure to the sun’s rays without proper protection. “It works for the entire population. If you have any lesions on your skin, you notice your mole is getting bigger,” or even itching, are classic signs that warrant a visit to a dermatologist. So take this moment to see you and answer your doubts,” concludes the Minister of Health, Cristian Silverio.
