Hey guys, my name is Flavia Eduarda and I’m going to tell you a little about my story…
I’m 19 years old and I have my whole life ahead of me, and as some of you know, I was brutally run over by a car that didn’t even stop to help me. This incident occurred on 09/09/2023 at around 4:30 am as I and some friends were returning from a party on Av Papa João XXIII. The emergency services helped me and left a tube.
I spent 14 days in the ICU in an induced coma, and then spent some time in a hospital room waiting to see if the doctors were going to operate on me, because in addition to being in a coma, I had also broken my hip. Since my treatment was long, they set up a hospital in my house and sent me home. My mother gave up her job to take care of me because I need someone with me 24 hours a day, my aunt gave up her life so she could help my mother take care of me and my father works so he can keep the house.
I have a tracheostomy and a tube and I take expensive medications, I use subcutaneous hinoxyparin every day and I follow a diet that includes Trophic basic medications and other medications that are not covered by SUS, including the ones you mentioned… because my treatment is long and the medications are expensive, and we need them from any help. It could be with diaper medications, with money or even by sharing so that more people can help me in this difficult time.
I am in a coma but I am fighting day by day until I can be with my family again.. and be able to smile again because today I find myself in a lot of physical and emotional pain.. because I want to do some movement but my mind does not obey me.
