Tens of thousands of people who went to this event, in a desert area in the state of Nevada, in the United States, are trapped in the place and have to fetch food and water due to the mud caused by the rain.

In a video posted on Instagram, the DJ appears with the comedian and others. “A fan offered Chris Rock and me a ride out of Burning Man in the back of a pickup truck. Six miles through mud.”

Every year a temporary “town” of Burning Man is created, and local media have reported that there are over 70,000 people there.

The organizers said in a statement on social media that access to this “city” is closed.

“The rain that fell during the past 24 hours has created a situation that requires a complete halt to the movement of vehicles,” said the government agency that manages the area where the event is taking place. More rain is expected in the coming days and conditions are unlikely to improve to allow vehicular traffic.

Some participants leave the site on foot and proceed on foot to the nearest road.

The event was scheduled to take place between August 27 and September 4.

Burning Man means Burning Man in English. The festival got its name because on the penultimate night of the event, a wooden statue in the shape of a man was burned.

Burning Man began as a small gathering in 1986 on a beach in San Francisco. Today, it is also frequented by celebrities and social media influencers.
