Actress Naomi Watts opened up a conversation about her own experience with early menopause, which she went through at the age of 36. In an interview with Hello! Mention the difficulties of the period. “It wasn’t easy at such a young age, especially at a time when there was so little information on the subject,” he said.

According to her, even medical professionals do not adequately prepare women for the trial. However, in her case, the situation quickly became more manageable when she realized she needed to stand up for herself and that “seeking help and understanding more about what was going on” was the best way to survive a “difficult period of adjustment,” she says.

That’s why Naomi joined the Menopause Mandate, a nonprofit organization whose mission is to support mature American women. Building on the success in the UK, Naomi is excited to co-chair the NGO in the US and hopes the partnership will help people pursuing a master’s degree feel more supported and less lonely, as she found herself in the early days.

“I really think if menopause wasn’t a taboo topic when I first started having symptoms, I would have an easier transition,” she said. “I was part of a cycle that desperately needed to be broken. There was a lack of open conversations and resources to help women navigate the changes they’ve been through. That’s why I’m now so excited to raise awareness and encourage more honest conversations.”
