Sports Minister Anna Moser has once again spoken out about esports, but this time without controversy for esports fans. According to her, a more detailed discussion is really necessary to discuss the issue within the government.
At a Senate Committee on Education, Culture, and Sports hearing held on March 28, she broadcast Senate TV, the secretary was called in to comment on her plans for the sports portfolio to the senators in attendance. In one of his discourses on the subject he said the following (Heb UOL):
Historically, the Ministry of Sports has not approved esports as a sport. This has already been discussed in the National Sports Council. This government does not have a specific position, we need to debate. If it is sports, culture, science and technology, if it is tourism. All e-sports relations that need to be regulated, because it is an undeniable and very powerful phenomenon from an economic point of view and from it.
Moser says that esports “cannot be cured just for the sake of sports”
Everything indicates that the study on esports should finally take shape in one of the government departments. Moser emphasizes knowing the impact of legislation to defend the interests of professionals in the region. paying off:
Esports has implications in several areas, even employment and labor rights, among others concerned.
