    On Wednesday (14), the House of Representatives approved a temporary measure that relaunched the More Doctors program, one of the goals of which was to reduce the shortage of professionals in high-risk areas and expand the service of the Unified Health System (SUS).

    The basic text was approved by 353 votes in favor, 58 against. One of the most controversial points, which dispensed with one of the stages of Revalida for those enrolled in the program, was withdrawn in agreement with the government (See more below). With that said, the motion goes to the Senate.

    Since he is an MP, the text has already been valid since it was edited by the government. However, for it to become final law, it must be approved by Congress within 120 days. Offer ends August 2nd.

    Among other points, the The temporary measure approved by MPs provides additional incentives for long-term clinicians working on the project in the ‘hard fix’ area.:

    • 20% of the scholarship value for those who have resided for 4 years in an endangered area referred to in a law issued by the Ministry of Health;
    • that it An additional 10% for those who work for 4 years in other municipalities that are difficult to establish.

    There are also additional fees for physicians trained through the Student Fund (Fies):

    • 80% of the total grants are in the case of weak areas;
    • that it 40% of the grant in other municipalities.

    However, the benefit will also be limited to the number of vacancies, which will still be determined by the Ministry of Health.

    One of the most discussed points among parliamentarians was the waiver of doctors trained in foreign countries from the Revalida practical exam – an exam necessary to verify certification in Brazil and be able to practice in the country.

    Prior to the vote on the Basic Text, the Head of Government, Deputy José Guimaraes (PT-CE), concluded an agreement in favor of withdrawing this point, which was the subject of a highlight (separate vote to delete it) from the PL.
