    The Organization for Economic Co-operation and Development (OECD) mentioned progress in the accession process of Brazil, as well as other countries such as Bulgaria, Croatia, Peru and Romania, in a statement on the ministerial meeting.

    “We continue our cooperation with key and other partners, including through regional and national programmes, as well as their commitment to OECD standards,” said the organization, which is chaired by Secretary-General Matthias Kormann, stressing “the importance of pluralism and unity to address global challenges and access.” beyond our current members.

    The meeting was themed “Securing a Resilient Future: Shared Values ​​and Global Partnerships” and was chaired by the United Kingdom as Chair, and Costa Rica and New Zealand as Vice-Chairs. The meeting also reaffirmed the values ​​of society, as in the 2021 Vision Statement, in addition to diversity and inclusion, and once again condemned the Russian invasion of Ukraine.

    The Foundation also highlighted the importance of tax reform in the international system and its vital role in achieving a carbon-neutral economy. Another point raised was the commitment in the Paris Agreement, including through the implementation of the Glasgow Climate Pact and the Sharm El-Sheikh Implementation Plan. “We look forward to an ambitious and successful outcome of COP 28,” the OECD said.
