Microsoft Teams has released an AI-powered tool to keep you up to date with meeting discussions. Dubbed Smart Digest, OpenAI’s GPT-powered tool highlights key topics of conversation, complete with notes, suggested activities, and important dates.
A smart feed doesn’t try to replace users’ attendance at the meeting, but it will save participants time taking notes themselves. Imagine the model as a personal assistant focused entirely on making drafts and scheduling appointments, while you focus entirely on the conversation.
For Microsoft, Intelligent Recap also strives to make meetings more productive. Microsoft explained that “55% of people report that the next steps at the end of the meeting are not clear, and 56% report that it is difficult to summarize what happens in the meeting.”
The Meet AI Assistant notes appear next to the meeting window under the “AI Notes” button. There, the items are automatically organized, including suggestions for solutions to achieve the goals discussed.
Teams AI will also help you keep track of conversation recordings. The tool will separate the chat into chapters, similar to what happens in YouTube videos, based on the topics discussed.

Microsoft’s AI-powered meeting assistant will be exclusive to Teams Premium subscribers with distribution starting Tuesday (30). First, the only language supported will be English, but more languages will be added in the second half.
