The T20 World Cup final between England and Pakistan on Sunday will be available on free TV in the UK.

Sky Sports is the sole UK television rights holder for the tournament, but the satellite broadcaster has in recent years been involved in some major sporting events with terrestrial channels.

And they’ve done it again, striking a deal with Channel 4 to make Sunday’s game available to the nation.

England’s bid to lift the trophy for the second time will be shown live on Sky Showcase, Channel 4, Sky Sports Main Event and Sky Sports Cricket.

Jonathan Licht, Managing Director of Sky Sports, said: “We know the importance of this game, so we are delighted to be able to share this great sporting moment with our entire nation thanks to our strong relationship with Channel 4.

Whether you support England or Pakistan, this will be an unforgettable moment.

Channel 4’s Chief Content Officer added: “We are delighted that Channel 4 and Sky have reached this agreement to bring another great national sporting moment on free-to-air TV to audiences across the UK.

“As the days draw nearer, some exciting international cricket from the Southern Hemisphere should provide some welcome cheers.”

In 2019, England’s 50-win World Cup Final was broadcast concurrently on Sky and Channel 4, drawing an audience of 8.3 million.

Captain Jos Butler and opening partner Alex Hales were the stars of the show in the semi-final win over India, chasing 169 to win with four overs.
