“His Majesty the King tested positive for Covid-19 last night and is now at Fredensburg Palace,” the statement posted on the palace’s website read on Wednesday. The Queen’s activities have been canceled this week. According to Reuters, the 82-year-old monarch is experiencing mild symptoms.
Despite the fear, this is not the first time that the King of Denmark has been around contaminated with virus. In February of this year, Margaret, who was vaccinated, also tested positive and developed mild symptoms.
It should be noted that, on Monday, she was among the 2,000 guests at Queen Elizabeth II’s funeral, which took place at Westminster Abbey in London. She also attended the ceremony at St George’s Chapel in Windsor Castle and was accompanied by her son, Crown Prince Frederick.
The Danish Queen was a cousin of Queen Elizabeth II, a descendant of Queen Victoria, and is currently the only queen in power.
