    Popularly known as “net cat”, the IPTV It is a kind of platform that provides a list of online TV channels. However, this service may have its days numbered in Brazil, as the national communications agency (Anatel) has announced that it intends to suspend operations here.

    The block will be directed to services running in illegal. Today, some operators have this type of transmission through monthly or annual subscriptions. In these cases, the service continues to operate normally, without interruption.

    We can cite as an example Globoplay, which, in addition to movies and series, also offers broadcast channels to subscribers, Claro TV, which acts as an Internet-only pay-TV channel, PlutoTV, among others.

    Cancel IPTV until 2023

    Irregular use of IPTV is a very common practice in Brazil. A person acquires a device, pays a symbolic value and is able to access TV channels for free, without belonging to operators or paying subscriptions.

    To contain progress in this practice, Anatel reports that the goal is to eliminate these services until the beginning of 2023. This will be done through tools that will detect and permanently block erratic IPTV equipment.

    In this sense, since it is an illegal activity, The consumer will not be able to resort to any service.

    What are the risks of illegal IPTV?

    When obtained legally and securely, IPTV provides users with many advantages, starting with a wide variety of channels.

    However, when equipment is used infrequently, the practice can be framed as a crime, with penalties imposed on those who sell as well as those who buy.
