    TheAsylum seekers went on a hunger strike to protest on Tuesday after the UK Home Office announced on Tuesday that the government intended to send the first refugees to Rwanda from June 14.

    According to BBCSeventeen asylum seekers at the Brooke House Immigration Center near Gatwick Airport in Sussex, UK, went on a hunger strike after being told they would be deported to Rwanda.

    Ali, a group of asylum seekers, told the BBC he had ended his five-day hunger strike on Wednesday night after police stopped adding sugar to their water while they were eating. After meeting with immigration officials, Ali said the last thing he was told was, “Eat, so you can fly healthy.”

    It should be noted that this move is part of an agreement equivalent to 140 million euros between the United Kingdom and Rwanda.
