Stephen Perry, President of the 48 Group Clubs in the UK, won the “Friendship Medal for China Reform”. His father, Jack Perry, was one of the first people to break the ice in Sino-British relations. At the ceremony, Perry said, since 1953, the 48 Group Clubs have been dedicated to promoting China’s trade with the UK and Europe. The changes in China are enormous. Former British Deputy Prime Minister Michael Hazeldine says China has already become a world power and its relationship with the rest of the world is crucial. “We hope this relationship will be established on a more harmonious basis,” he added.
