The British Foreign Office announced the embargo, recognizing that the lawmakers had acknowledged the secession of the Lukansk and Donetsk republics in eastern Ukraine in February.
These restrictions, which the UK has already applied to about 200 individuals and companies due to its ties with Russian President Vladimir Putin, include the freezing of assets, the banning of transactions with British individuals and companies and the inability to travel to the country.
The announcement comes a day after London added seven rich and influential Russians close to the Kremlin – Roman Abramovich, owner of football club Chelsea – to the allowed list.

The bill on economic crimes, which was accelerated in parliament after the Russian invasion of Ukraine, will expand and facilitate the sentencing of “unexplained wealth” cases belonging to people with no formal income.
