Novelty was the highlight of the meeting between Ricardo Gomez and Peter Wilson

The Deputy Mayor of Porto Alegre, Ricardo Gomez, received this Tuesday, the 14th, in the Paso Municipality, with the United States Ambassador Peter Wilson, on an honorary visit to present the city.

Among the topics discussed, the most notable was the Porto Alegre movement to promote innovation and entrepreneurship. The sub-highlight highlights the unicorns (start-ups worth over US $ 1 billion) created in the capital, such as Jetnet, Ajibank and XP Investmentos. “We are a city of services, so we want to put more emphasis on innovation. We are the second largest health center in Brazil, for example.”

The ambassador expressed interest in the Southern Summit, an international event to be held in Porto Alegre in March, and other partnerships with the city. Director of International Relations, Ricardo Saunderman, produced a script to introduce visitors to Cuba and the Southern Hemisphere.

Secretary of the Environment and Urban Development Germano Prem, Economic Development and Tourism Assistant Vicente Peron, Political Consultant of the Embassy Juliana Funo and Honorary Ambassador of the RSS Denise Crosha were also present.
