In the UK, Sergei Krashev and Deepak Mahajan, UK national distributors of Slovenian aircraft manufacturer Pipistral, have developed an initiative called Green AirSite to place Pipistral Welis electric aircraft in UK aviation schools.

To that end, they sought the cooperation of another airline, Fly Up Aviation Company, and V1 Investment Fund.

According to the plan, Green Airside is expected to buy up to 50 biblical walls and lease them to UK aviation schools. Green AirSite launchers say the goal is to make it easier to start operations with non-emission airlines and provide immediate solutions to airlines. In addition to flight, Green Airside offers its clients virtual reality flight simulators and online training classes so that airlines can train their students in a modern, low-cost training environment.

Sergei Krachev said: “The 50 Welis project for aeronautical schools in the UK is now a reality! We concluded the deal with investors and placed an order for the first ten aircraft this week.

Welis Electro was approved by the EASA (European Aviation Safety Agency) in June 2020. The two-site model was developed based on the bipistral virus SW 121 cell from two locations in the CS-VLA segment, hence its internal model name Virus SW 128 (Wallis Electro).

It weighs a maximum of 600 kg and has the same 10.50 m wings as the SW 121. The virus’s 100 PS (74 kW) Rotax 912S3 internal combustion engine is powered by Pipistrel E – 811-268MVLC’s 57.6 kW electric motor. It achieves a continuous output of 49.2 kW at 2,350 revolutions per minute.
