Canal Dev users expect you to be the first to get it Build 22478 running Windows 11 On Thursday (14), it was mainly about the new emoji of the newly released operating system. After all, according to a post from Microsoft in July, the faces will come with a 3D design. But that’s not what happened: they came with 2D technology.

How do Latest ad On World Emoji Day, designer Claire Anderson, Artistic Director and “Emoji Scientist” at Microsoft, made a preview sharing point where, in addition to the 3D design, most of the new emojis were animated. Of the more than 1,800 emojis in Microsoft 365, she asserted at the time: “We’ve been working over the past year to radically update them, creating a naturally fluent system.”

Microsoft announced Emojis in July 2021.

What do the new emojis for Windows 11 look like?

The first thing I noticed on yesterday’s build 22478 is that all of the Windows 11 icons are perfectly flat 2D images. Although they look similar to the emoji in the video above, any hints of shading that might give the slightest illusion of 3D have been carefully removed. The colors are also flat, with no effect at all.

It can be argued that the inclusion of vignetting can affect the visibility of effects, especially at a lower scale, as well as not being noticed by people with some kind of visual impairment. However, the question arises: why did Microsoft announce the shaded and animated variants of emojis with pomp, then simply not run in Windows 11?
