Carlo Giovanni of Rio Grande do Sula is the creator of the cover of ‘Animal Revolution’ released by Edipro’s Violidura label. The work competes with 14 other international products. The winner will be announced on 10/12.
Founded in 1973, the Association of Illustrators (AOI) has become the professional organization for illustrators in the UK, bringing together over 2,700 members.
Since 2002, the organization has hosted the World Illustration Awards (WIA) annually, recognizing the works of illustrators from around the world in a variety of categories, including book covers, books, children’s publications, and commercial publications.
According to Reno Runwick, Director General of AOI, the idea behind the award is to provide a platform to “discover amazing new illustrators”.
This week, the jury announced the finalists for the 2021 Awards and Brazilians are competing in the book cover category: Carlo Giovanni, Rio Grande do Sul, responsible for the cover of the edition Animal Revolution Released under the ViaLeitura brand by Edipro.
To create the description, Carlo created an image gallery of papers, created a three-dimensional effect and finished it digitally. This book competes with 14 works in this category.
The arbitration panel for the bookcard section was created by Livia Satriano (Italy), founder of Libri Belle; Mark Campbell (Australia), Creative Director and Publisher at HarperCollins and Senior Art Director at Penguin Random House Alison Impi (USA)
All works selected at this stage of the award will be part of a list and exhibition of 2021 works carried out by the WIA.
The announcement of the big winner in each category, with the exception of other special prizes, will be released on October 12th.
