The English and Spanish leagues defend not to release athletes

The leagues that organize the English and Spanish leagues defended their clubs on Tuesday (24th), in the spat between teams and national teams. The two sides confirmed that they support the clubs’ decision not to release their players to be called up for the World Cup qualifiers next September.

The English Premier League, the company that regulates the English language, has been more consistent. I have decided not to release players who have been called up for the national teams that will play at the next FIFA date, in countries that are on the “red list” of the United Kingdom. They will have to undergo a government-imposed quarantine for 10 days upon their return to England. The measure, which was unanimously endorsed by clubs vying for the English elite, will affect 60 players from 19 different teams. Hours later, LaLiga adopted the same rhetoric in Spain.

The decision of clubs from these two countries should cause problems for coach Tite, especially with regard to the English language. Brazil will play Chile, Argentina and Peru in September. From his initial roster of 25 players, nine play in England: Alisson, Fabinho and Roberto Firmino of Liverpool; Ederson and Gabriel Jesus, Manchester City; Thiago Silva from Chelsea. Richardson Everton. Fred from Manchester United; Ravenha from Leeds United. With that said, Tite must make a fresh call for nine more athletes for the triple-elimination round, but the Brazilian Football Confederation has yet to comment.
