The long-awaited animated series about the UK royal family that HBO Max kept in the oven was released via a streaming platform in the US this early Thursday. Entitled “The Prince”, its idealization came from screenwriter Gary Janetti on his Instagram profile, which is famous for its conflicting comments about Kate Middleton and Prince George, the eldest son of Prince William. This is a farce, of course, but much of its plot is inspired by real-life events, such as Megan Markle and Prince Harry’s withdrawal from royalty.

Jonetti plays Georgie’s narrator (Prince of the series title in this case), Frances de la Tour (Elizabeth II), Lucy Punch (Middleton), Condola Rashad (Markle), Evan Ryan (William), Sophie Turner (Charlotte) Bloom (Harry), Alan Cumming (third-row butler to the British throne) and Don Stevens (as Prince Charles).

Stevens describes Prince Philip, who died in April, which is why “Prince”, which was so well received by special critics, was not released at the time as originally planned. Many celebrities are expected to come in cameo appearances in this attraction. The list confirmed so far includes names like Kelly Ripa, Andy Cohen, Brad Korsky and Kyle Richards.
