years on but shining bright as ever!

Mediarun is proud to announce the successful completion of its second big project in the lighting and design industry this year with the launch of the new Angelepoise e-commerce website ahead of the 2009 London Design Week.

Anglepoise Lamp

Anglepoise is a leading brand in lighting in the UK having recently celebrated its 75th anniversary tribute to a British car designer by the name George Carwardine who designed the first AnglePoise lamp way back in 1934. The success Of the brand over the decades lies in its ability to continuously evolve its legacy yet maintaining its tradition.

Mediarun became part of Anglepoise history in 2008, when it was selected to help the company develop its first online marketing strategy. This marked a new phase in the evolution of the Anglepoise brand which had until that point remained a relatively passive participant in the online revolution.

A very successfully search campaign resulted in establishing a direct relationship between Anglepoise with its end consumers. The company had traditionally focused on business to business channels, but with the help of Mediarun, Anglepoise undertook the challenging task of repositioning its brand online. As a heritage brand which was well known in the UK, Angelepoise wanted to increase its presence in international markets and target a younger generation not aware of the Anglepoise heritage and history.

The new Anglepoise website provides enhanced user experience through background information on products, design history, high quality imagery and detailed specification along with multi-lingual and currency features. The redesign has not only increased the visual attractiveness of the website but has also significantly trimmed the sales conversion path to enable a faster check out process for buyers.

From an organic search marketing perspective Mediarun ensured that all the credibility that had been previously built was successfully migrated to the new website without impacting oranic rankings and traffic. Further enhancements were also made to the URL structures, addition of detailed descriptions fields, multi-browser compatibility along with improved information architecture for good indexing.
