    Although residents of the United States accounted for the largest number of cruise passengers in Lisbon in May, residents of the United Kingdom were the largest group in the first five months of the year, totaling 86.9 thousand, accounting for 36.3% of the total. .

    According to the Lisbon Port Authority (APL), there were 128 cruise ship calls to the port of Lisbon between January and May, four less than the same period last year, but the number of passengers increased by 66.3% or 95.3 thousand, for a total of 239.3 thousand.

    After residents of the United Kingdom, the groups with the most tourists are residents of Germany, 47.1 thousand (19.7% of the total), and residents of the United States, 46.4 thousand (19.4% of the total).

    This is followed by residents of Canada, 9.7 thousand (4.1% of the total), residents of Portugal, 8.4 thousand (3.5% of the total), residents of Italy, 4.7 thousand (2% of the total), and residents of Brazil, which is 4.2 thousand (1.8% of the total).

    Already under four thousand, 3.7 thousand live in France (1.6% of the total), 2.6 thousand live in Australia (1.1% of the total), and 2,500 live in the Netherlands (1.1% of the total).

    In addition to these, ships visiting Lisbon carried 2,700 tourists of unspecified nationalities, accounting for 9.5% of the total.
