The IRS has reported more than 58,000 companies about the differences that exist between the Accounting Bookkeeping Financial (ECF) and other information found in the tax authorities’ database.
During processing, tax data indicating economic activity were disclosed, but these companies did not report revenue from activity in the ECF. Of the total number of legal entities that filed an ECF in these two years, only 3.5% of taxpayers fall into this position.
In this first phase, legal entities with discrepancies found recipient contact in a CAC email mailbox, with data for 2018 and / or 2019.
Contradictions in the ECF
Federal Revenue Communication aims to alert companies so that they can automatically review and correct the information in the ECF, that is, without imposing a penalty. The deadline for companies to correct data without penalty is July 12, 2021.
