    The state government receives visits from representatives of the governments of Germany and the United Kingdom, who are coming to Brazil to undertake monitoring work for the REM Mato Grosso project funded by both countries.

    These meetings will begin on Monday the 18th and continue until next Thursday.

    The financiers will meet with Governor Mauro Mendes, Secretary of SEMA Maureen Lazzaretti, Executive Secretary of SEMA Alex Marega and General Coordinator of REM Mato Grosso, Ligia Vendramin, to assess the progress of the project's activities.

    The REM program has been operating in Mato Grosso since 2017, after the state reduced illegal deforestation by 90%. 10 years.

    The scheme is a division of the State Secretariat for Environment, SEMA, and works to benefit stakeholders in forest conservation such as family farmers, traditional communities, sustainable rural producers and indigenous peoples.

    Germany and England have reserved 247 million reais to carry out REM project activities in Mato Grosso.

    The resources were used in the first phase of the project between 2018 and 2024, and with the positive results presented to the financiers, the continuation of investments in the state is already guaranteed with the 2nd phase of the REM Mato Grosso project.

    For the new phase, the British government invested heavily 91 Millions of ries and more than the German government 80 Millions of rice.

    At the monitoring mission, government representatives will sign a commitment to transfer resources for Phase 2, which has already been signed in 2023.

    The REM Mato Grosso project has already been delivered 144 Social organizations including 114 Associations or Cooperatives.

    Among the beneficiaries 603 Villages where they live 40 Indian people. In total, 107 Municipalities of Mato Grosso and beyond 30 A thousand people were served.
