Since 2009, Procon-SP has been offering a “Don’t Call Me” service where users can register their phone numbers so they don’t receive telemarketing calls. This year, the feature has been extended to SMS status and apps.

Last week, Procon-SP released a ranking of the biggest harassment, those companies that insist on making unwanted contact with consumers, even under penalty of a fine, as “Don’t Call Me” was created by a legal state.

The arrangement is updated monthly and aims to promote compliance with the legislation, Procon-SP explains in the note.

Even under penalty of fines, many companies continue to make unwanted contacts with consumers, so the Protection Agency decided to create the list. “Procon-SP intends to expose the consumer that brands and suppliers do not respect, and to continue to harass and make offers against their will,” says Fernando Kepez, CEO of Procon-SP. For him, “It is important that the consumer remembers the name of these companies when giving a position to the brand.”

The ten claim heroes are as follows:

    • Vivo, with 3,743 calls
    • Among all, with 3077 calls
    • Of course with 2524 calls
    • Banco Pan, with 2,522 connections
    • Banco Ita, with 2308 calls
    • Tim with 2,294 calls
    • Viva Mais with 2256 calls
    • Santander, with 1,838 colleagues
    • Banco BMG, with 1,618 connections
    • Harvest, with 1,167 colleagues

    Penalties

Since 2010, 346 administrative processes have been introduced to investigate the complaints of people who have registered their phone numbers in the “Não Me Ligue” and more than 250 million Brazilian reals have been applied as fines to companies that do not respect the law.

Claro leads among the companies with the most operations (6), followed by Brasfilter (from Filters Europe) and Telefonica (Vivo), with five. On the Procon-SP website it is possible to see a list of all the companies that have been evaluated.

How to register your phone number or submit a report

Those who do not wish to receive offers for products and services or fees and spam messages can register up to five owned phone lines, landlines, or cell phoneAnd On the Procon-SP website.

After 30 days of registration, companies will not be able to contact you. If someone insists on calling, it is possible to file a complaint on the same page as the Procon-SP ban request.

Since Don’t Call Me came into effect, 2,998,997 phone lines have been registered.
