    Of the ten countries from which the most tourists came to Brazil in January-April this year, half were in Europe.     The other five countries in the top ten from which more tourists came to Brazil in the first four months of the year are Argentina, the United States, Paraguay, Chile and Uruguay.

    Argentina was the country from which most foreign tourists came to Brazil in the January-April 2023 period. There were 1,181,665 – an increase of 166.1% compared to the 443,993 who came to Brazilian territory in the same period in 2022.

    The number of visitors from Argentina to Brazil from January to April this year has already exceeded the number of visitors for the whole of 2022, when 1,032,762 Argentines came to Brazilian soil.

    In the first quarter of this year, the United States was the second country from which the most foreign tourists came to Brazil (224,882), and Paraguay, in third place, with 1,941,981.

    The increase in tourists from Chile compared to the first four months of 2022 with the same period of 2023 was 169.3% – the highest among the tenth-ranked countries. The number has risen from 63,803 last year to 169,954 this year.

    The lowest increase in tourists compared to the first quarter of 2022 with the same period of 2023 was those who came from Portugal, with an increase of 46.3%.
